Arab firm to delay U.S. port takeover

WASHINGTON -- A United Arab Emirates company has volunteered to postpone its takeover of significant operations at six major U.S. seaports, giving the White House more time to convince skeptical lawmakers the deal poses no increased risks from terrorism.

 

 

Skeptical lawmakers are not the only ones concerned with a deal brokered by the White House without the proper safeguards normally put in place for this type of operation.

Hopefully the delay in the takeover will not cause a cooldown in the effort to investigate the deal and the tradeoff offered by the White House.

We want the war to end, we don't want to bring it home.
